Letter from the President-Elect

Western Neuroradiology Society

I am delighted to warmly invite all of you to the annual meeting of the Western Neuroradiology Society this fall. We are proud of our legacy as a welcoming society with an increasingly diverse membership that offers practical programming for all levels of neuroradiology expertise. We have a great scientific program planned, with lectures on cutting-edge advanced imaging and artificial intelligence, and updates on the rapidly evolving fields of neurodegenerative & inflammatory disorders, brain tumors, pediatric, spine, and head & neck radiology.

The beautiful Westin Hapuna Beach resort is located on the sandy shores of the legendary Kohala Coast on Kona (the big island of Hawaii), 30 minutes north by car from the Kona airport. There are two world class golf resorts on site, tennis and pickleball courts (for hosting our annual golf tournament and 2nd annual pickleball social), a beautiful infinity pool ideal for viewing spectacular sunsets, and a large family pool. The pools overlook the world-famous white sands of Hapuna Beach, offering excellent swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling for family members of all ages. Your registration includes complimentary access to many amenities at the resort including pool and beach chair service, snorkeling gear rental, cultural activities, and much more. The resort is home to many activities nearby such as Volcanoes national park, home of the most active volcano in the world (Kīlauea), day cruises, and evening snorkel trips with manta rays.

Our meeting will feature many social events and networking opportunities including our Opening Reception and Game Night, Annual Business Meeting breakfast, the annual WNRS Golf tournament, Pickleball Social, and Closing Reception & Gold Medal Dinner. You will have opportunities to interact directly with our corporate partners, who will introduce the newest technology and services on the market in an easy and accessible format. Trainees are welcome at WNRS and are encouraged to attend the informal afternoon meet and greet “job fair” with leaders in neuroradiology, enabling meaningful connections and the development of professional contacts.

We will reunite with old friends, make new ones, and enjoy the warm beaches and Aloha spirit on the big island of Hawaii together at the beautiful Westin Hapuna Beach resort this October 2024, and I hope to see all of you there!
